Colors and style for photos that pop

Below you will find a few ideas I put together to help you decide on a color palette for your fall photo session. From soft prints, colors that flow with the surroundings, and ways to add to a neutral background. I have listed suggested areas where they would look good. Remember jackets and accessories can complete the look!

Pumpkin and Rust

If the trees haven’t quite turned or have mostly gone, using these colors will inspire the fall feel. The backgrounds that would work best could be downtown, evergreen trees, rocks, or open field/lake area. Oh a warm golden sunset in a field on light yellow grass! Okay, moving on!

Neutrals and texture

You can’t go wrong with neutrals. The outdoors with jeans are a casual go to. You can dress it up with hats, jackets, and leather boots. Creams and light browns are shown but cream to dark gray would work as well. Even Black jeans would work with the cream to gray palette. Backgrounds like a field would give a soft monochromatic vibe. The wall photos would be classic and not so seasonal. For pops of color, look for backgrounds with flowers, pumpkin patches, and of course colored leaves (if you can catch them?)

Wine and Navy

Here you will find another bold color of fall. Wine and Navy are a great pairing for an open scene. I could also see this color in a couple who was hanging out in a booth by the window at a coffee shop. Maybe even holding hands walking along a path at a city park. Just thoughts…I hope this will give you inspiration for a color palette, how to style the family, and some clothing options for your upcoming photo session. Remember to think about where you have chosen and find the style that would complement that area.
